Fire Engine Photos
Maudslay Regent Merryweather ET OXT 779
taken about 1984 on a Fire Bridgae Society visit to Southwark fire station and training centre. Photographed outside Winchester House, now home to the Brigade museum, but formerly the chief's house. At the time OXT was owned by Eric Billingham, and the middle TL by Mike Hebbard. Far TL has a pre war ladder I think. OXT needed a bit of a respray at this time. See picture # 12286 and 12447 for a shiny red version and some detailed history. OXT of course appeared in the Ladybird fireman book in the 1960s which inspired some us.
