Here you can see just how flimsy the construction is of vehicles, all wood and fibre glass. The cab roof, side and body just fell away. Compare this with a modern vehicle, but they don't have soul.

I think this picture illustrates why the angular SS and RS types were developed. Many pre 1980's vehicles were built of wood and fibreglass, and this is what happens when they come to grief.
several crews Nationwide will no doubt be grateful for the SS and RS types. Not all modern ideas are inferior.
