Er,Um!; what would a Moffett Mounty be exactly?

For those of us, from far-away lands.....

It's a truck mounted fork lift truck, used to carry equipment around the fire ground .

Pat_R-B,no,its not a name we call your Mountied Police(RCMP),a Moffett Mounty is a fork lift truck thats carried on the back of the appliance and is used to take off the equipment that the appliance carries in large ballets.

Yes, now - I can see the fork-lift's tire at the rear.

Have seen same idea used in commercial truck operations over here - again, for pallet-loads such as building supplies, sods (lawn-turf, that is) & etc.

Allows for one-man operation - don't have to pay for a swamper, or, lumper, or, helper...aka Driver's Mate.

Thanks for the come-back, Pete & John; would never have guessed it.

Regards, from Canada,
