Quite an international trio!

Only the Unic chassis is French, although both Camiva and Sides are French fire truck body builders.

The very rare MOL truck is actually a Belgian product, but with a German Magirus power train - and of course the Unimog is from Germany.

SDIS 16 currently operates 40 4X4 brush trucks, 34 pump water tenders for structural firefighting, 37 ambulances and 8 aerials out of 27 stations, along with 3 rescues and numerous staff and support units.

The service employs 249 full time firefighters, 63 professional administrative staff and approximately 1, 000 unpaid volunteers. Some of the volunteers are seasonally engaged to increase available resources during the summer and autumn wildfire period...

SDIS 16 is fairly typical of French departmental fire services in its mix of appliances. Although they operate a combined total of over 4, 000 structural pumpers, the number of brush units is actually even higher.

Their numbers of unpaid volunteers are also typical, as over 75% of operational French firefighters are volunteers, including around 20% female...
