2009 Scania/JDC Water Tender Ladder at Lancing

This photograph shows the new 2009 Scania/JDC Water Tender Ladder(reg-HX09 BYG)of the West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service that will be allocated to the retained station at Lancing.
I photographed the appliance whilst parked up in the rear yard of Lancing Fire Station on Tuesday, 25th August,2009.Its now been on station for about a week while driver training, etc is being carried out and should go operational soon.
Note-its one with a red roof.I understand that all future new appliance will have this new look, but there is some talk about not buying anymore Scania's.It'll be very interesting to see whats coming next,or is this just a rumour?.

Hi Pete. While at East Grinstead's 999 Day on the 12th of September, one of the firefighters said that another batch of Scanias will be arriving in the county next year, and that East Grinstead will be receiving one of them.

Danny,I thought East Grinstead were getting one of this years,as this changed?.I was at Haywards Heaths open day last week(5th Sept)and photo'd their new Scania and was told East Grinstead also had there one.If your saying that it wasn't on station I'm glad I didn't waste my time coming all the way up there-I went today(Sat,12th Sept)to the Laughton Country Show near Lewes-GOOD.
I was told that the brigade might not be buying anymore Scania's which I mentioned above.I've been told that Scania are to stop making fire appliances because they are not making enough money out of them.Is this true I wonder?,or is this just another rumour.

Actually Pete it was on sight {09}, and I managed to get a few pictures of it, which I've put on this site along with some of the Dennis Sabre, Dennis Rapier and their Steyr Puch 4x4.

Also I over heard one of the firemen say that once their Scania is on the run their Dennis Rapier will be staying, and the Dennis Sabre will be posted at another station.

the rumour is that east grinsteads and horshams sabres are going to burgess hill freeing up the 2x rapiers the s-reg back to the leasing company and the v-reg moving to reserve or to another station down south ???
