Captured a great On-Scene shot of a working fire, B.Bob; looks like the fire is under control, and the crews are "Taking up".

The Bedford J, in front, was "first-in" - the ex-Green Goddess and other Engine in back-ground, supplying water and back-up ?

Pat,just for accuracy, this is Portishead's Bedford J not Pills, the Bedford may have been 1st or 2nd in the goddess 3rd and the Dennis in the background 4th,it was from Nailsea.I don.t seem to have photographed Pills appliance.
Photo taken 9th July,1971.

Thanks, Bob. BTW, what was the fire ?

Just curious about other peoples' fire-scenes.

The closest that I have been to here, was hearing the legendary Portishead Marine Radio station, at night, during Arctic voyages.

What's the appliance behind the Goddess, is it a Dennis or another Bedford?

Added by Grant Melville on 25 June 2012.
Grant, it is a Dennis.

Bob I see the AFS Bedford do you know we're it was Stationed and when issued to Brigade for AFS use.

Added by Brian Needs on 06 June 2019.
Brian, the Bedford was a Divisional spare appliance, probably kept at Weston Super Mare. Sorry, I don't know about the AFS history.
