GLW Leyland TD Turntable Ladder, Wolverhampton F.B

Turntable Ladder built on an unfrozen Leyland Titan Chassis during WW2. Unfrozen effectively meant realeased from war production.
This was seen at Teesside Airport Rally c1984. I took several pictures of this during the 80's. look out for them soon.

Chris - really appreciate all the photos that you are getting out to us, from over the years.

Fellow readers, From Elsewhere; look carefully - not only is the Driver in an Open Cab...he is alone in his own Half-Cab !

Think bottom-half of a double-decker bus....has
to be one of the more unique Aerial[TTL] Ladder designs about...

Regards, from Canada,
Pat_R-B

GLW 422 went from Wolverhampton FB to Cape Hill Brewery, Smethwick early 1960's

Replaced around 1960 by the one and only Leyland Firemaster Magirus turntable ladder with a front-mounted 500 gpm pump. The other, without a pump, went to Darlington County Borough and is in preservation, thanks to Dr. Hutchinson.
