Hartlepool's Open Day line up

Another view of Stranton's Open Day in June 2001. This time we see the former Brewery Dray F886KRG as an Environmental Protection Unit, together with L680FPY (India 3/fn17). When the machines are on the front Apron, they are idealy placed for photography, particularly in the afternoon. Just make sure that one doesn't get mown down by the passing Traffic!

Am i right in thinking that the Seddon atkinson was the only Seddon atkinson to ever be used as a fire appliance ?

This machine was never a purpose built Fire Appliance. As I mentioned in the text, it was a former Brewery Dray. Cleveland needed a suitable vehicle for the role and this was available, so here it is. The equipment operated on a series of modules, and this type of vehicle was found to be most suitable. I think the vehicle was acquired with the system in mind, and the modules were designed to fit. I have a view of it with the tarpaulins pulled back, I'll see if I can post it soon.
