Mitsubishi Canter HD/Fabristeel FSV Rescue Tender no.1 (RT1)

Acquired in 2007. This Mitsubishi Canter Rescue Tender no.1 (RT1) is operated by BFRD Special Squad based in Berakas FRS. This applaince is much better than the 1980s Reynolds Boughton/McAlister RT. It is equipped with latest equipment which the older RTs didn't such as rear mechanical crane, two folding awnings above the bodywork, spacious crew cabin and lockers plus its size which enable it to gain access at rural areas and narrow streets.

add commentComments:
The Canter is a very lightweight chassis and can accommodate a very large payload for a truck with its modest dimensions.

It is now being marketed in Europe by Mercedes as an alternative to the discontinued old Vario, and examples are appearing in German and other European fire service fleets.

It has of course been used by fire services in Japan, the Far East and Australia for many years, as well as in Scotland.
