This 1942 Bedford QL watertender was locally built by Harmsen in Hengelo in 1949 on a formal army truck, He built four of this watertenders on this Bedford chassis. This one is the last one left, it is stil with the fire brigade of Hengelo in the Netherlands als a parade piece.

Louis, what a great series of preserved Fire Engines, unique to the Netherlands, that you have brought us.

Dear sir,

The fire engine on te photo is one of four en is still owned by the fire brigade of Hengelo (Gelderland). This one is not only build by Harmsen but also by Herwers, both in Hengelo (Gelderland). The first Bedford QL had a original fuel tank and is used/build for water. The Bedford on the photo is the second one and the watertank is build by GEMS in Vorden. Two other Bedford QL's are also build with watertanks build by GEMS. Those two vehicles was for the fire brigade in Zelhem and the fire brigade in Warnsveld. Sorry for my English.
