Cleveland County Fire brigade Rescue C854UAJ

This is the C854UAJ This very attractive machine met an unfortunate demise in an RTA on the A66 when it was written off. Some further details of this incident would be appreciated. This picture shows it attending an exercise at Middlesbrough's famous Transporter Bridge in 1992.

What not everyone knows is that for some time this one ran about with the incorrect registration of C584 UAJ.

I did know that Ian, but it was too long winded to type out at 23.00 hours lol!
To Paul, glad you like the pictures, I too have a preference for ET's, particularly this one. It's a shame it met such a ignoble end so soon though.
I thought this was probably the best looking ET in the North East. (but then I'm biased in favour of Cleveland ET's lol!)

I believe the ET was responding to a report of a then RTA (RTC) on the A67 adjacent to the then Teesside Airport one frosty morning and skidded on the section as it retuns to the original section of narrow road near the railway halt, wittnessed by Airport crews on Airfield. Darlington crews also responded to the original RTC.

Hi Brett, thanks for the information. Do you know if any photographs exist of the crash?

Added by Chris Hall Teesside UK. on 21 February 2009.
What happened to this ET after the crash, where did it go I mean?
