hi nick, nice photos of the z8 s in malaysia, do you know what other type of crash tenders they have? mark corfield.

Added by Mark Corfield on 01 December 2006.
It's true Mark that the Malaysia Airport Berhad (MAB) fire owns several other models of crash tender, pumper and support vehicles. Ranging from Ziegler's, GMC, Mercedes etc

Only KLIA has the 8x8 Zieglers.
Other airports use the new Rosenbauer 6x6s and a new 6x6 vehicle called 'Tiger' which I have no idea who makes.
The most common 4x4 RIV and 6x6 crash tender is the CME Technologies own design built on an Alvis chassis.
The air force has a 4x4 CME design RIV built to be able to be carried by an Hercules.

Langkawi airport is equipped with Rosenbauer (MAN chassis) RIV 'Panther' series. The Panther has 10, 000L of water, 1, 200L of foam. It's special features are:1)fence cutter, in case the aircraft crash outside the airport premise.
2)special yellow paint.

If you go to www.cme.com.my - there are some stills of RIVs and Crash Tenders lately supplied to Malaysia Airports.
