Cork City Fire Brigade - Simon Snorkel

This is one of a number of examples of the older crest that I did on various engines at Cork City Fire Brigade circa 2000. Executed in gold leaf with a black shadow and using a long lost old irish font this example was about seven years old at the time I took the shot.

Somewhat bruised but not bad considering how long it's been there and the harsh environment in which it has to survive. A slight touch up job would bring it back to its former glory.

The engine itself it absolutely beautiful. It's a Simon Snorkel build on a Mercedes 2435 engine and I think registered in 1990. Shortly I shall obtain a shot of the entire engine.

I have a special interest in gilding these types of crests and lettering on fire engines, and I'd be happy to talk to anybody who'd like to have it done on their engines regardless of location.

Excellent work Paul, it is so nice to see such a fine example from one of my students all these years later... You are one of our very best men, respect my friend! ;)
