NSW Rural Fire Service - Category 13 Tanker

This is a Category 13 Bulk Water tanker used by the New South Wales Rural Fire Service. The chassis is a Sterling. Not sure of the water tank capacity, they generally are around 14,000+ litres. This one is the same model as the NSW Police Riot Squad water cannon truck, except theirs is black and armour plated.

Interesting place-name, tell us more about "Round Corner".

I belong to "Long Reach" VFD; and we, too, have a Sterling Pumper/Tanker, with a single rear-axle. Caterpillar diesel, Allison trannie, 1050 Imp gpm(4770 lpm) pump, 1200 Imp Gal (5455 Litres) Water Tank.

Regards, from canada,

The chasis is completly standard from the sterling factory before they shut down due to the GFC.
I found this by accident, but it belongs to my Brigade. Her tank capacity is 12, 500 Litres. Mounted on top is a remote monitor controlled from the cab interior. Round Corner Sterling (which is its more commonly used call sign over Round Corner 13)is a one of kind, everything can be controlled from the cab; full pump control (GAAM Silent Pack twin stage impellar), the water managment, which is a trial air operated system which has pros and cons as well as various other fire fighting applications
Round Corner is a suburb in the Shire of Bualkham Hills in Sydney Australia. We are the only brigade in the shire that has bulk water; the Sterling and a MercedesBenz 911 off road tanker with half the water capacity.
The NSW Police Public Order Squad Tanker was modeled after the Round Corner Sterling
