ERF was a British truck and commercial vehicle manufacturer, founded in 1933 by Edwin Richard Foden (ERF) and had its manufacturing facility / headquarters in Sandbach, Cheshire (England). It changed hands however in the 1996 to Western Star and in 2000 again to MAN. It all got messy and parties went to court to settle a dispute on profitability.
Man's approach on the brand was to use it to sell MAN build trucks with ERF badges. The production plant in Sandbach was closed in 2002, and to top it off MAN stopped using the brand in 2007.
There are a range of photos of (British) ERF fire appliances of all kinds on this site, from Incident Units, Prime Movers to Hydraulic Platforms.
