Magirus Deutz started it's corporate life as Magirus Feuerwehrwerke producing fire-fighting equipment in 1864. It had a good reputation enhanced by their development of the turntable ladder, Magirus Leiter.
Engines made by the company Deutz were used explaining to some extend why these vehicles were known / badged Magirus Deutz.
In 1975 Magirus Deutz changed ownership to Iveco. As a result for some time the brand Magirus Iveco was used.
You'll find Magirus (Deutz) vehicles on the Fire Engine Photos site in many shapes and sizes (though mostly large :) From water tenders to ladder units and tankers.
