Albion

Albion Motors was a Scottish automobile and commercial vehicle manufacturer. It was founded in 1899 as Albion Motor Car Company Ltd and had its headquarters in Glasgow, Scotland. In 1951 Albion was taken over by Leyland. On the change of Leyland to British Leyland the name Albion was dropped. In 1987 it changed name again to Leyland-Daf (after the Dutch take-over). In 1993 a management buy-out brought the name Albion back, Albion Automotive, however in 1998 the company changed hands again and is now owned by Detroit based American Axle & Manufacturing manufacturing parts for the automotive industry.
