LIAZ (LIberecké Automobilové Závody - translated as Liberec Automobil Works) was a Czech / Czechoslovak manufacturer of trucks. The company was founded in 1951 as a division of Škoda. In 1953 it became independent but the Škoda name was still used until 1984. LIAZ reached its peak in the when it was the biggest Czechoslovak truck manufacturer. However Liaz ceased production in 2002.
